Virginia Woolf: Killing the Angel is a witty, thought-provoking one-woman play that weaves the words of Virginia Woolf with songs by seven women composers who were her contemporaries, including Ethel Smyth, Liza Lehmann and Rebecca Clarke. Included is a preface, written by Lucy Stevens, which explores how the women composer’s lives interweave with Virginia Woolf’s.
Lucy Stevens and pianist Elizabeth Marcus, have toured Virginia Woolf: Killing the Angel, Ethel Smyth: Grasp the Nettle and Kathleen Ferrier: Whattalife! throughout the UK and internationally, as well as being featured on BBC2, BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio 4.
